　　《乡村都市情》讲述的是，以刘玉光（张红宇饰演）、刘玉明（袁世龙饰演）兄弟、彩云（李晓红饰演）曲一贵（孙涛饰演）、萧潇（卓小然饰演）、赵半瓶（苗强饰演）、赵月（宋小宁饰演）、萧老大（王建国饰演）、刘母（张红英饰演）为代表的山东沂蒙山区菜农，种了菜卖不出去，为生计所迫，只好下江南贩卖蔬菜开辟新的市场，通过他们的艰苦奋斗、勤劳致富改变了自己的命运，编织出了许许多多的精彩故事，最后他们成为大都市上海菜篮子工程不可缺少的一部分。这部电视剧折射出改革开放三十年来中国农民思想和生活发生的翻天覆地的变化，通过他们从田野走向城市、从菜农转变为商人的过程和群像，描述了农村人和城里人的感情纠结，谱写了一曲新农村与大都市和谐发展的新篇章。
