　　建国之初，百废待兴。在这段艰苦的岁月中，中华儿女凭借坚强的意志和不服输的韧劲儿完成了一个又一个古今罕有的人间奇迹。位于河南最北端的林县，由于地质地貌的缘故，千百年来一直是一个极度干旱缺水的地区。适值大旱之年，更接连上演饿殍遍野、人人相食的残酷悲剧。年轻有为的县委书记杨贵关心人民疾苦，他和县委班子成员以及相关技术专家对林县以及周边区县进行缜密细致的勘察，最终提出一个大胆的设想——从山西引来漳河水，修成水渠灌溉林县土地。为此，林县人民克服万难，精心规划，以平凡肉身劈开亘古耸立的太行山，历经十年时间将一条生命之水从天上引来。
　　从此，红旗渠这个响当当的名字便镌刻在中国古老的大地之上！
