　　民国年间的天津卫水患频发，河中怪力乱神之事不绝。河上警察队队长郭得友（李现 饰）深得师傅“老河神”的真传，一手点烟辨冤的绝技，告慰冤魂无数。漕运商会会长离奇死于河中，郭得友背负嫌疑与会长之子丁卯（张铭恩 饰），青梅竹马的女伴顾影（王紫璇 饰），以及天津市政府秘书长之女肖 兰兰（陈芋米 饰）一同查清案件，发觉种种诡谲的迹象都指向了二十年前的一段往事。当时一个叫做“魔古道”的邪教组织肆虐京冀一带，二十年后，郭得友和丁卯再次发现了“魔古道”的踪迹，郭得友、丁卯、顾影、肖兰兰四人为了阻止魔古道的复辟，卷入了一桩桩惊悚离奇的案件之中。
